Welcome to Week 8 – Group Four Photos

Creative Memory Keeping - Challenge 8

Why Group Photos?

Grouping four or more photos together isn’t just visually striking—it’s a brilliant way to showcase multiple perspectives of a single moment. By clustering images, you instantly draw the eye and invite viewers into the narrative you’re telling on the page.

Challenge –

Group four (or more) photos and cluster them together to create a large focal point. This technique allows you to showcase multiple images at once on a single layout.

Tips for This Challenge –

  • Choose photos that tell a coherent story or showcase different aspects of one event
  • Experiment with different layouts for your photo cluster:
    • Grid formation (2×2 or other arrangements)
    • Overlapping photos for a collage effect
    • Asymmetrical groupings for visual interest
  • Consider using photos of similar color tones for a cohesive look
  • Try varying photo sizes within your cluster to create hierarchy
  • Add a thin border or mat around photos to help them stand out
  • Leave some breathing room around your cluster to make it a true focal point

My Projects –

For Creative Memory Keeping – Challenge 8, I focused on a Pocket Page layout in my Project Life album. My muse? Tigger, my sweet pupper, enjoying cozy times. To make these moments shine, I decided to craft a flip card as the centerpiece.

Photo Card –

  • Photo Selection – I chose four favorite snapshots of Tigger snoozing in different adorable poses, printing them as 2-inch squares.
  • Card Base – These photos were arranged on a 6×4 cream-colored cardstock, providing a soft backdrop.
  • Accent Strips – I cut strips from the Project Life Core Kit card, inking edges with dark brown to add warmth and definition.
  • Sentiment – “Cozy Vibes Only” was stamped on matching green cardstock with rich brown ink to tie the elements together.

Crafting the Flip Card –

The flip card added an interactive layer, using the same green as on the photo card for the base. I cut out “Little Moments This Is Life” from the core card, rounded the corners, and inked the edges for a distressed look. For a playful tab, I turned to my Cricut Maker 3 and Design Space, cutting a dotted-pattern tab and stamping “Comfort Zone” in dark brown.

Journaling Made Simple –

On the flip side, I created a journaling card to record all those cozy details. A cream square with rounded, inked edges kept the style consistent. To lead the eye, I punched a 1.5-inch circle, inked it, and stamped “Busy Doing Nothing”—the perfect phrase for lazy days.

Bringing It All Together –

Assembling the flip card was deceptively simple. A 6” x 1.5” strip, folded lengthwise with a scoring tool for a crisp edge, held everything securely. I left a small gap from the center fold for smooth flipping action. The result? A dynamic card that celebrates Tigger’s comfort in every frame.

Why I Love This Technique

Grouping photos not only highlights your favorite moments, but it also tells a fuller story, whether you’re working with a Project Life album or a single-page layout. The flip card is an interactive touch that adds both fun and function to your memory keeping.
