Bring on Spring Tag: DIY Sign

Spring is such a wonderful time of year! Why not take advantage of it by giving your home decor a little refresh? I’ve got just the thing – a bright and colorful tag that says “Bring on Spring”! Let me show you how to easily make your own DIY sign using simple materials and techniques. It’s going to be so much fun!

Materials

  • 2 – 11″ x 5 1/2″ boards – I got mine from Dollar Tree
  • Acrylic Paint – White, Hot Pink, Bright Yellow and Turquoise
  • Cricut & Design Space
  • Bring on Spring Phrase
  • Permanent Vinyl & Transfer Tape
  • Basic Cricut Accessories
  • Drill & large drill bit
  • Wire ribbon
  • Twine
  • Wooden Beads
  • Hot glue gun & Gorilla glue

Directions

Find the center of boards on one short side. Draw diagonal lines from center to outer edges. Cut boards along the diagonal lines to create the tags.

Paint tags with white acrylic paint. Let dry completely.

Cut the “Bring on Spring” phrase from permanent vinyl using Cricut Design Space and Cricut.

Weed excess vinyl from designs and transfer to the tag using transfer tape.

Find the center of the top edge of the tags then mark about 1″ down from the top edge. Drill a large hole in both boards using a large drill bit.

Hot glue the boards together with the glue gun.

Cut another length of twine and fold in half. Insert through the tag holes and thread ends through the loop.

Cut a length of ribbon approximately 18″ long. Fold edges over each other at the center.

Cut a length of twine and wrap around the center of the ribbon to create a bow. Trim the ribbon tails. Hot glue the bow to the tag at the holes.

Paint wooden beads in turquoise, yellow and hot pink.

Thread beads onto twine and tie a knot at the top.

Hang & enjoy!
