DIY – Freedom Isn’t Free Red Truck Mini Crate

Materials –

  • Mini Wood Crate from Dollar Tree
  • Chalk or Acrylic Paint – White, Hazelnut & Navy Blue
  • Mod Podge
  • Foam Brush
  • Decorative Napkin
  • Parchment paper
  • Cricut Mini Press or Iron
  • Sanding Block
  • Cricut Maker & Design Space
  • Blue permanent vinyl & Basic Cricut Tools
  • Ribbon
  • Twine
  • 2″ wooden star

Paint the mini crate with white acrylic or chalk paint using a foam brush. Use a toothpick to remove the paint from the cracks. Let dry.

Spread a thin layer of mod podge on the crate using a foam brush. Let dry.

Cut the napkin to the size desired. Separate the napkin layers and position the top layer on the crate. Smooth so there is no wrinkles.

Place parchment paper on top of the napkin. Heat using the Cricut Mini Press or an iron. Let cool.

Gently sand excess napkin off using the sanding block.

Brush off excess napkin from edges.

Cut the phrase “Freedom Is Never Free” using a Cricut Maker and Design Space.

Weed and apply to crate using transfer vinyl.

Distress crate using the dry brush method to apply Hazelnut chalk paint.

Paint star with white chalk paint. Distress edges with navy chalk paint.

Hot glue ribbon around crate. Create a faux bow using twine and hot glue on top of ribbon.

Hot glue star to front of crate.

Display and enjoy!

Instructions
