Clip the point to reduce bulk, then turn the bandana right side out. Use a point turner to push out the corner for a crisp finish.

Press the bandana flat with your iron.

Use a fabric pencil to mark a stitch line across the bandana to create the casing for the collar. Stitch along this line.

Top stitch across the top and the “V” section, stopping at the casing stitching to give the bandana a polished look.

Give the bandana one last press to make sure everything is neat and flat.

Thread your dog’s collar through the casing and let your pup strut their stuff!!

Final Thoughts

Tigger’s neck measure 17 1/2” and his collar is 1 1/2” wide. The straight edge is 14” long. This bandana fits Tigger perfect. If your pup is smaller or larger just adjust the triangle accordingly to fit.

If your pup’s collar is wider than 1 1/2″, measure collar then add 1/2″. Cut ends off by that measurement. Example – Tigger’s collar is 1 1/2″ so I cut 2″ off the triangle ends.

Now your pup has a stylish new accessory that can be reversed for a different look. This DIY reversible dog bandana is a quick and easy project that adds a personal touch to your dog’s wardrobe. Happy sewing!

I’d love to see your pup sporting their fashionable accessory. Drop pics in comments!
