Supplied Needed

  • A metal planter
  • Chalk paint – white, black & brown
  • Foam brush, small paint brush and natural bristle flat paint brush (chip brush)
  • Painter tape
  • Sanding block
  • Potting soil & flowers or Artificial greenery or flowers & floral block

Most of these materials can be found at your local Dollar Tree, making this a budget-friendly project.

Steps

Paint planter with white chalk paint using a foam brush. Let dry.

Wrap planter with painter’s tape just below the upper and lower edges.

Paint edges with black chalk paint using a small paint brush. Let dry.

Remove painter’s tape from planter. Touch up any areas around top & bottom of planter as needed.

Using the dry bush method, lightly distress planter with the chip brush and brown chalk paint.

Lightly sand raised wording on front and back of planter.

Seal planter with ultra flat Polycrylic sealer.

Add potting soil and flowers or decorate with floral block and artificial flowers. Display with pride!
