Freshly Picked Wood Sign

Supplies
- 12 x 12 Wood Panel (Dollar Tree) or 12 x 12 Wood Board
- Acrylic Paint – White and Brown
- Foam Brush
- Mod Podge
- 11″ x 11″ Calendar Page
- Ribbon & Raffia
- Jute Twine
- Parchment paper
- Mini Heat Press or iron
- Picture Hanging Hardware
- Hot Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
Using a foam brush, apply a coat of white paint to the board. Let dry.
Using a foam brush and the “dry brush” method, distress the board by lightly adding brown paint to the edges. Let dry.
Apply a layer of Mod Podge to the board using a foam brush. Let dry.
Center calendar page on board and smooth down.
Lay a piece of parchment paper over board and iron with mini heat press or iron until calendar page is adhered to the board.
Mark the center back of the board. Line up center “tooth” of the picture hanging bar and mark the nail holes.
To make attaching the hardware easier, take an awl and press starter holes into the wood at marked locations.
Use a hammer to attach the hardware.
Cut approximately 18″ of ribbon. Fold tails across each other and gather centers. Wrap jute twine around the center of bow.
Cut raffia in approximately 18″ lengths and tie in a bow.
Hot glue ribbon and raffia bow to board.
Hang and enjoy!

DIY Freshly Picked Wood Sign
Make a sign for every season and holiday to change up your décor without breaking your piggy bank.
Materials
- 12 x 12 Wood Panel – I got mine from Dollar Tree or Board
- Chalk or Acrylic paint – colors of your choice
- Foam Brushs
- Mod Podge
- 11 x 11 calendar page – I got mine from Dollar Tree
- Parchment paper
- Ribbon & Raffia
- Picture Hanger – optional
Tools
- Iron – I used the Cricut Easy Press Mini but a regular house hold iron works
- Hot Glue Gun and glue sticks
Instructions
- Paint the 12 x 12 wooden panel with white paint using the foam brush. Let dry.
- Pour a small amount of brown paint onto a paper plate or heavy paper. Lightly dip a foam brush into the paint then dab off the excess paint. Dry brush onto the painted panel to give a distressed look. Let dry.
- Spread an even layer of Mod Podge onto the wood panel using a sponge brush. Allow to dry.
- If your ribbon bows won’t hide the “hanging hole”, trim the page then position on the wooden panel in the center.
- Cover with parchment paper and iron until the mod podge melts and adheres the calendar page. Allow to cool.
- Attach a picture hanger to the back if desire.
- Cut approximately 18″ of ribbon. Fold tails across each other and gather centers. Wrap jute twine around the center of bow.
- Cut raffia in approximately 18″ lengths and tie in a bow.
- Hot glue ribbon and raffia bow to sign.
- Hang & enjoy!!
