My December Daily Journey 2025
The holidays are here—lights twinkling, cocoa steaming, and calendars filling up fast. But in the middle of all that hustle, there’s a little tradition that helps you slow down and soak up the magic: December Daily. If you’ve never heard of it or have and wondered about it, December Daily is a beloved project created by Ali Edwards that encourages documenting the stories of December.
Think of December Daily as your personal holiday storybook. It’s a memory-keeping project started by Ali Edwards back in 2007, and the idea is simple: document one story every day in December. Big or small, silly or sentimental—every moment counts,
My Journey
I first dipped my toes into December Daily back in 2016. Armed with a Snap Album, coordinating cardstock, and a stash of Christmas embellishments, I crafted an album that was simple yet heartfelt. Many of my pages were Cricut-made creations, and while it wasn’t fancy, I loved how it turned out. The album has a rustic feel to it.
Life, as it often does, got in the way after that. Despite my best intentions, I didn’t manage to complete albums in the following years. But last year, I gathered all the Ali Edwards supplies I had collected over time and finally created another album. My 2024 album felt a bit more polished and put together. I think because of the products I used to create my album.
This year, I’m embracing a mix of rustic charm and polished details. I’m putting together my own kit using leftover Ali Edwards goodies and new finds from Hobby Lobby, including The Paper Studio Vintage Christmas 12×12 Paper Pad and a 6×8 Chipboard 3-Ring Scrapbook Album.

So, What is December Daily?
Think of December Daily as your personal holiday storybook. It’s a memory-keeping project started by Ali Edwards back in 2007, and the idea is simple: document one story every day in December. Big or small, silly or sentimental—every moment counts.
Your album can include:
- Photos of holiday traditions
- Stories about family gatherings
- Recipes you love
- Decorations around your home
- Reflections on the season
It’s not about being perfect—it’s about capturing the real stuff: decorating the tree, sipping cocoa, laughing at holiday movies, or even those quiet winter mornings.
Your “Reason Why” (And Why It Matters)
Before you start, take a minute to think about your reason why. Maybe you want to slow down and savor the season. Maybe you want to create a keepsake for your kids. Or maybe you just love playing with pretty paper and stickers! Whatever it is, write it down—it’ll keep you inspired when life gets busy.
My Reason Why Page
For me, it’s about Simply Joy—learning to enjoy the holiday season solo as I spend time with my fur-babies Litten and Tigger.

I found the idea for My Reason Why page on December Daily® With Ali Edwards Design Inc Facebook page. I really liked Amy Sackrison’s Reason Why page and decided to scraplift it.
Here’s how I created My Reason Why page:
- Cut cream cardstock to 6×8.
- Selected eight coordinating papers from my Vintage Christmas pad and cut them into 1.5” x 3” strips.
- Arranged the strips in two rows of four at the bottom of the page.
- Added a contrasting strip at the top for balance.
- Used Cricut Maker 3 and Design Space to cut my title, Simple Joys from red striped pattern paper and cream cardstock. Distressed the edges of the cream cardstock with Ranger Ink Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Walnut Stain.
- Used Cricut Maker 3 and Design Space to create a label – highlighted December 2025 with a gold metallic pen outline and fine-point lettering then cut out of Vellum.
- Added dimension with a wood snowflake embellishment and a chipboard phrase from a past Ali Edwards kit.
I wanted this page outside the page protector for a tactile feel—because sometimes, touching the textures adds to the experience.
