Sew Along – McCall’s 7626 – Romper – Sew Much Fun!
Welcome back! I’m glad you’re joining us for the Sew Along of McCall’s 7626 Romper.
In this session, we’ll focus on stitching the shorts and attaching them to the bodice. Hang in there, we’re almost done! The most time-consuming part of our sewing project is finished, and from here on, it’s a breeze.
Just Joining us?
Head over to the Sew Along M7626 Romper page to catch up on past posts. I explain how to calculate your measurements, pattern ease, and the right pattern size for your romper along with creating a mock up and sewing the bodice.
I have an accompanying Sew Along McCall’s 7626 Romper Guide. This eight-page illustrated guide is full of tips to make your sewing experience effortless and enjoyable.
We’ve completed sewing the bodice of our romper and now we’ll move on to making the shorts.
Let’s do this!
In the post, I combined Session 2 & 3. We’ll focus on inserting darts in the front and back short pieces, adding pockets, and attaching the shorts to the waistband.
Stitch the pocket lining to the pocket front piece and attach it to the front section of the shorts, following the pattern instructions.
Then sew the back pockets and attach them to the back of the shorts.
Now, we’re ready to construct the shorts.
Follow the pattern instructions to sew the inside leg seams and side seams together.
Attach the shorts to the romper bodice, following the pattern instructions.
We have finished the majority of the construction for the romper. Go ahead and try it on so you have an idea of how great it’s going to look finished. I know I couldn’t wait to see how I looked!
Make sure to take a few pictures and upload them to social media to show off your awesome creation. I I put a list of suggested photos in the Sew Along Guide. Don’t forget to use the following hashtags: #dhad_Sewalong #dhad_Sewalong_M7626 #M7626 #McMcalls7626 #sewalong #sewalong2023.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this sew-along. Feel free to leave comments and pictures below to show us your progress.
I’m excited to see you next week for Session 4, our final session. During this session, we will be inserting the invisible zipper, finishing up the lining, and hemming the shorts.
Until next time. Happy Sewing!
