Spaghetti Day Celebration!
Happy Spaghetti Day, everyone! I’m thrilled to be celebrating this delightful day with all of you and, of course, I couldn’t let it pass by without sharing an absolutely irresistible spaghetti recipe that you can whip up in your Instant Pot.
This Instant Pot Spaghetti recipe is a family favorite that will have you celebrating Spaghetti Day in the most delicious way possible. It’s a hearty and comforting dish that packs a whole lot of flavor thanks to the combination of Italian sausage, ground beef, and a homemade tomato sauce that’s rich and robust.
The beauty of this recipe lies in its simplicity. With just a few pantry staples, you’ll have a meal that’s sure to impress. Plus, it’s all made in the Instant Pot, which means minimal cleanup and a meal that’s ready in no time. Perfect for those busy weeknights or when you’re just craving some good ol’ spaghetti.

Let’s Do This!
Stuff You Need –
- Instant Pot Duo 7-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker
- 1 (15 ounce) can Italian Style Diced tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- salt and pepper to taste
- 3 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 yellow onions, chopped
- 1 green bell peppers, chopped
- 5 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1/2 pound lean ground beef
- 1/2 pound Italian Sausage
- 3 1/2 cups of water
- 16 oz uncooked spaghetti
- Parmesan Cheese
How To Do It –
Blend diced tomatoes, crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce in a blender.
Add in brown sugar, basil, oregano, salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
With the Instant Pot on Saute, add Olive Oil, onion, green pepper and garlic. Saute for about 1 – 2 minutes.
Add ground beef and Italian Sausage in Instant Pot. Brown and drain well.
Add water stir until well combined, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pot.
Break spaghetti noodles in half and lay across the ground beef in different directions.
Pour tomato sauce over noodles but DO NOT Mix.
Close and lock Instant Pot lid and move the steam valve to the sealing position.
Pressure cook at high pressure for 9-11 minutes. When done, allow steam to release naturally.
Remove the lid, stir. There will still be some liquid in the pot. This will absorb after just a few minutes. Let the pasta rest for 3-5 minutes and then serve. Add Parmesan cheese to taste.
Want to make a “No Meat” Sauce? Here’s how!
- 1 (15 ounce) can Italian Style Diced tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- salt and pepper to taste
- 3 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 yellow onions, chopped
- 1 green bell peppers, chopped
- 5 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1/2 cup dry red wine (Merlot, Pinot Noir, or Cabernet Sauvignon)
- Blend diced tomatoes, crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce in a blender.
- Add in brown sugar, basil, oregano, salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
- Turn Instant Pot on Sautee and add Olive Oil, onions, green bell pepper and cloves. Saute for 2 – 3 minutes until onions start to soften.
- Pour dry red wine into Instant Pot and deglaze pot by scraping up any browned bits that may have formed on the bottom of the instant pot, allowing the wine to sauté and reduce for 1 minute or so. Turn off the sauce function.
- Add tomato sauce to pot and mix thoroughly.
- Close and lock Instant Pot lid and move the steam valve to the sealing position.
- Pressure cook at high pressure for 7 – 8 minutes. When done, allow steam to release naturally.
- Remove the lid and stir.
The “No Meat” recipe is also excellent for lasagna, stuffed shells, and any other Italian dish that includes a red sauce.
