- Scissors
- Glue Gun
- Mod Podge
- Foam Brush
- Mini Press or Iron
- Parchment Paper
Steps
Start by working with one section of small jute rope. Apply hot glue to one end of the rope and secure it to the back of the head portion of the bunny wreath form. Once the glue has set, begin weaving the rope around the head.
Take your time as you wrap, keeping the rope snug and close together so the wreath form doesn’t peek through. Jute naturally wants to twist, so gently guide it into place as you work.

When you reach the end of the first rope section, hot glue the end to the back of the wreath.
Then take your next section of small jute rope and hot glue it directly to the end of the previous piece on the back side.

Continue wrapping the bunny head using the same process:
- Wrap the rope around the head.
- Secure the end on the back.
- Attach the next rope section.
- Repeat until the entire head is fully covered.
This layered wrapping gives the wreath a full, textured look and creates the perfect rustic base.
The ears are where this wreath really comes to life. They add personality and they’re surprisingly easy to make.
Start by placing the bunny wreath form on top of your foam board. Trace the outside shape of the ears directly onto the foam board. Be sure to trace carefully so the ears match the shape and size of the wreath form.

Once traced, cut out the foam board ears using scissors. These will be the sturdy base for your fabric ears.
Write “Left” and “Right” on the back of each ear to ensure they line up correctly when attaching them to the wreath.
Using a foam brush, apply an even layer of Mod Podge to the unlabeled side of each foam bunny ear. You don’t need a thick coat—just enough to fully cover the surface.
Set the ears aside and allow the Mod Podge to dry completely. This step is important because the Mod Podge acts as the adhesive that will bond your fabric to the foam once heat is applied.

Once the Mod Podge is fully dry, it’s time to add fabric. Lay foam bunny ears Mod Podge side up and place fabric right side up on top.
Cover the ears with a piece of parchment paper to protect your fabric. Using your mini press (or iron on a low setting), gently apply heat over the parchment paper.
The heat activates the Mod Podge, adhering the fabric to the foam board. Move slowly and apply even pressure to ensure the fabric sticks smoothly with no bubbles or wrinkles.
After the ears have cooled slightly, cut around the foam board, trimming away the excess fabric. Leave just enough fabric around the edges to fully cover the foam without bulk.

Flip the wreath over so you’re working from the back. Apply hot glue to the base of each foam ear and around the edges. Press ears onto the back of the wire ears on the wreath form. Hold them in place until the glue sets securely.
To finish off the ears and give them a cohesive look, take your large jute rope and begin hot gluing it around the top portion of the bunny ear wire.
Work slowly, gluing the rope neatly and securing it with small line of hot glue as you go.

For the final decorative touch, hot glue a floral pick at the base of the bunny ears. This is where you can really get creative.
You can use:
- Faux florals
- Greenery
- Seasonal stems
- Small bows
- Or even decorative carrots or eggs
Keep it simple or go bold—it’s completely up to you!
This Bunny Jute Wreath is best displayed in a weather‑protected area. A covered porch, entryway, or interior door is ideal. While jute is durable, it’s best to protect it from excessive moisture and direct rain to keep it looking fresh season after season.

Ways to Customize Your Bunny Wreath
One of the best things about this project is how easy it is to personalize. Here are a few fun ideas:
- Use gingham, florals, or polka dots for the ears
- Add a bow between the ears
- Choose pastel florals for Easter or greenery for everyday spring
- Paint the foam ears before adding fabric for a pop of color
- Add a monogram tag or wooden sign
No two bunny wreaths have to look the same, which makes this project perfect for gifting or crafting with friends.
