Stunning Fall Pumpkin

Stunning Fall Pumpkin

Fall is here, and there’s nothing quite like the warm, cozy feeling of decorating your home with beautiful autumn accents. But who says gorgeous fall décor has to break the bank? Today, I’m sharing one of my favorite budget-friendly projects that will have your neighbors asking where you bought your stunning pumpkins – when really, you made them from simple Dollar Tree supplies!

Let’s Do This!

Steps

Paint Your Stunning Fall Pumpkin

Start by spray painting both Dollar Tree plastic punch bowls with the Rustic Orange paint. Here’s my pro tip: invest in a spray gun grip! It makes all the difference in getting smooth, even coverage and saves your finger from cramping up. Let the paint dry completely between coats.

Add Realistic Texture

Once dry, it’s time for the magic touch. Using a foam brush, apply the Truffle chalk paint in a distressing technique. This creates that authentic “dirt” look that makes your pumpkin appear like it was just picked from the patch. Don’t worry about being perfect – the more organic it looks, the better!

Weight It Down

Here’s a clever trick I learned the hard way: outdoor decorations need weight! Fill a quart freezer bag with pea gravel or sand and place it in the bottom of one bowl section. This prevents your beautiful pumpkin from becoming a flying decoration on windy days.

Carefully super glue the two bowl sections together. Pro tip from experience: be very careful not to glue your fingers together – trust me on this one! Allow the glue to set completely before moving on.

Create the Perfect Stem

Using a hand miter saw, cut a tree branch to the perfect size for your pumpkin stem. The natural, organic look of a real branch is so much better than any artificial alternative. Super glue it securely to the top of your pumpkin.

The Fun Part – Decorating!

Now comes my favorite part – adding all those gorgeous fall touches! Attach acorn bell to the stem using jute twine. Hot glue Spanish moss and your fall floral pick around the stem at the base. Finish with wire ribbon bow for that perfect rustic farmhouse look.

Styling & Display Ideas

This stunning fall pumpkin are incredibly versatile! Here are some of my favorite ways to display them –

Front Porch Perfection: Group three different sizes together with some mums and corn stalks for a stunning fall vignette.

Indoor Elegance: Place on a mantel with battery-operated fairy lights woven around the moss for a magical glow.

Dining Room Centerpiece: Surround with mini gourds, pinecones, and candles for a gorgeous tablescape.

Covered Porch Display: These weather-resistant beauties are perfect for covered outdoor spaces where they’ll last all season long.

Why This Project Works

What I love most about this DIY is how it combines creativity with practicality. While fresh pumpkins are beautiful, they don’t last long and can attract pests. These gorgeous alternatives give you all the fall charm without any of the hassle.

The distressed finish technique really makes these shine – that Truffle chalk paint creates such an authentic, weathered look that people genuinely think they’re real pumpkins that have been sitting in the field.

Here’s My Thoughts

There’s something so satisfying about creating beautiful home décor with your own hands, especially when it costs a fraction of store-bought alternatives. This project proves that with a little creativity and some basic supplies, you can create fall magic that rivals any expensive boutique piece.

So grab those Dollar Tree bowls and let your creativity run wild! I’d love to see your versions of this Stunning Fall Pumpkin – share your creations and tag me in your photos. Happy crafting, and here’s to a beautiful, budget-friendly fall season!
